Michele Davidson, PhD, PMHNP-BC, CNM

Michele Davidson is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife who provides warm, thoughtful psychiatric care for children ages 7 and older and adults. She is the founder of Chesapeake Bay Psychiatry and brings more than 30 years of clinical experience to her work.

Clinical focus

Michele commonly helps patients with ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, and sleep concerns. She also offers additional expertise in women’s and perinatal mental health, including pregnancy, postpartum, PMDD, perimenopause, menopause, and related concerns. Michele is also the provider for Chesapeake Bay Psychiatry’s Medical Weight Management program. Her background as a certified nurse midwife gives her a unique perspective on mental health during major hormonal and life transitions.

Patients who work with Michele can expect careful listening, practical explanations, and a treatment plan shaped around real life — not generic advice. As an educator, author, and national speaker, she brings both depth of knowledge and a patient-centered approach to care.

Availability

Virtual appointments are typically available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern. Michele is also the only provider who offers limited in-person appointments in Chesapeake, based on availability.

Michele holds advanced training in perinatal mental health and ADHD-related care, and her work has included teaching, publishing, and speaking on women’s mental health and psychiatric care.
