Psychiatric evaluations for new patients ages 7+
This is where every new patient begins.
The psychiatric evaluation is the required first appointment for children ages 7 and older and adults who are seeking care at Chesapeake Bay Psychiatry. This visit helps us understand what has been going on, how long symptoms have been affecting you, what you have already tried, and what kind of support makes sense next.
What this visit is for
This first appointment is designed to help us evaluate concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD symptoms, bipolar symptoms, sleep concerns, mood changes, emotional overwhelm, or uncertainty about diagnosis or treatment.
What to expect
During the visit, we review symptoms, relevant history, past treatment, medications, and goals. When appropriate, we talk through diagnosis, treatment options, prescribing, and recommended next steps.
Why all new patients start here
A thoughtful evaluation helps us determine the best path forward. Depending on your needs, follow-up care may include medication management, ADHD testing, women’s and perinatal mental health support, medical weight management, or another tailored plan.
